BAO BAO ISSEY MIYAKE  bags, with their articulated PVC triangular panels, are designed around the theme of "shapes made by chance"—as you and the bag move throughout the day, the bag’s silhouette shifts in beautiful and unexpected ways, like a kinetic piece of art. This tote bag is from the brand’s Prism Tote line and has a zippered interior pocket, and adjustable handles. The BAO BAO ISSEY MIYAKE Prism Stripe Tote Bag is made from polyvinyl chloride and synthetic leather.

Why We Chose This
Issey Miyake was a conceptual fashion designer known for his technology-driven clothing designs and new methods of pleating fabric. His work is represented in MoMA’s collection, most notable his A-POC Queen Textile (1997), a collaboration with Fuijwara Dai, which is a system of producing self-tailored clothes. The work was also included in MoMA’s 2017–2018 exhibition Items: Is Fashion Modern?

Authenticity Guarantee

At MoMA Design Store, all of the designs we sell are curator-approved and authentic. We ensure the integrity of our products through research and by working closely with the designers. Our products embody the spirit of good design objects in MoMA's collection. Some of them are actual designs represented in the Museum's collection.
