Block Shop is an LA-based, sister-owned textile and design studio working in the tradition of weaving that is documented in Woven Histories: Textiles and Modern Abstraction, on view at MoMA from April 20 through September 13, 2025.. Made from 100% cotton, this Martin Bandana features a pattern inspired by the grid paintings of Agnes Martin and made with a wooden block print in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The process involves tracing the design onto a wooden slab which is then carved by hammer and chisel into a printing block. Since the bandanas are printed by hand using AZO-free non-toxic dyes, variations in the print may occur, making each one beautifully unique. Tie it around your neck or An eye-catching addition to any outfit, the Block Shop Martin Cotton Bandana measures 21l x 21”w. Machine wash cold gentle cycle with like colors, lay flat to dry or tumble dry low.

This textile, art and design studio was founded in 2013 Los Angeles by sisters Hopie, Lily and Grier Stockman. Block Shop is a team of multi-generational artists and craftspeople who are dedicated to the rich history and process of handmade textile production. To create their designs, Block Shop partners with printing organizations in Rajasthan, India, such as the woman-run Craft Boat.
