MoMA Exclusive: Made to trick the eye, these Flower Lamps—conceived by designer Mike Bliss in 1984—have returned to bring eternal spring vibes to your space. Made entirely by hand, the lamps are crafted from powder-coated steel, and have a flexible gooseneck which can be bent in various positions for directional lighting—and for creating the illusion of a real flower turned toward the sun or resting in the evening. These new versions are identical to the original 1984 designs. Choose from a tulip or daffodil table lamp or a dramatic statement-making floor lamp (each sold separately).

  • Table Lamp requires an LED bulb, fitting E12 max 10W (not included).
  • Floor Lamp requires an LED bulb, fitting E26 max 15W (not included).
  • Both are powered by standard plug-in.
  • The lamps have one level of brightness with an inline on/off switch on the cord.

“I came up with the idea for the Flower Lamps when I was sketching in my notepad,” explains designer Mike Bliss. “I wanted to create something that was cheerful, happy and fun. We found a workshop that could manufacture them and they were an instant hit.”

“My daughters said to me, ‘Dad, we are seeing these lamps on vintage sites, going for a fortune, and we really think you need to relaunch them to a new generation. We think younger people will really enjoy them.’ So we found a factory that could make them. The new ones are exactly the same as the originals.”

“Like the originals, the lamps are made entirely by hand. They’re made of steel and the leaves are welded to the tubes and everything is powder-coated. I created these lamps to make people smile, to make them feel happy.”
