A quick and attractive way to boil water, this Electric Kettle was designed by a founder of the Memphis Design Group, George Sowden, for Danish brand HAY. Quirky and colorful, this Kettle doubles as a piece of sculpture on your kitchen counter. The kettle sits on a separate power source and a switch turns off automatically approximately 20 or 30 seconds after water reaches a boil. Use it to boil water for tea, coffee, instant noodles and more. For one pint of water, boil time is approximately three minutes; for one quart, boil time is approximately five minutes. The HAY George Sowden Electric Kettle has a polypropylene outer shell and a stainless steel interior, holds 50.7 oz and measures 9.9h x 8.7w x 6.5"d. It is powered by a standard plug-in and has a 35”-long cord that can coil under the base for storage. HAY is a manufacturer with work in MoMA’s collection.
