Jeffrey Gibson

Jeffrey Gibson (born 1972) is a Mississippi Choctaw and Cherokee painter and sculptor based in upstate New York. Gibson's artwork addresses issues of identity and labels, and has featured the use of mixed media including Native American beadwork, trading post blankets, metal studs and fringe. His vibrant screenprints are represented in MoMA's collection and his work was featured in MoMA PS1's 2016 exhibition Greater New York.
