Keiji Otani is a Japanese textile designer who graduated with an MA in Constructed Textiles from London's Royal College of Art. He is represented in MoMA's collection with Brickyard (1997), a knitted-nylon fabric that was inspired by stacks of freshly fired bricks. The tiny “bricks” remain in relief even when the cloth is stretched. This textile was featured in MoMA's 1998 exhibition Structure and Surface: Contemporary Japanese Textiles.
Authenticity Guarantee
At MoMA Design Store, all of the designs we sell are curator-approved and authentic. We ensure the integrity of our products through research and by working closely with the designers. Our products embody the spirit of good design objects in MoMA's collection. Some of them are actual designs represented in the Museum's collection.
