Why We Chose This
This cap design at MoMA Design Store coincided with the Museum’s exhibition Items: Is Fashion Modern?, which featured baseball caps by New Era Cap Company, which are also represnted in MoMA's collection. In the spirit of the city where MoMA is based, we chose the New York Yankees version of this design. Items: Is Fashion Modern? featured 111 iconic items and was the first fashion exhibition presented at MoMA since Bernard Rudofsky’s 1944 show Are Clothes Modern?
