A great way to show your love for New York City, these USA-made playing cards are a commemorative edition celebrating the 50th anniversary of the colorful diagrammatic map of the MTA subway system, now commonly referred to as the Vignelli Map. Debuting in August of 1972 and designed under Massimo Vignelli’s direction, the map is now known as an icon of Modernist information design and is represented in MoMA’s collection.

This set of classic American playing cards feature completely custom back and face card designs, celebrating the now legendary signage of the most frequented transit system in the USA. The flowing lines of their back designs capture the kinetic energy of transit in The Big Apple, and the faces of the cards repeat the iconic circle designs that designate the subway’s lettered line names.

An Officially Licensed Product of The MTA and produced by Fulton’s Playing Cards, the MTA Vignelli Map Playing Cards are printed by the US Playing Card Company on premium card stock. The accompanying box is letterpress embossed in San Diego, CA, and the additional card features an essay by Dr. Kenneth Joh on the significance of the Vignelli Diagram. Each card measures 3.5l x 2.5"w.
