Designer George Nelson developed the Bubble Pendant Lamps series of lightweight, transparent shapes with visible steel infrastructures after feeling challenged by the high price of some silk-covered Swedish lamps he sought for his office. Replacing the silk with a sprayable plastic resin created new

Replacing the silk with a sprayable plastic resin created new design possibilities and a more affordable manufacturing process.The Nelson™ Saucer Bubble Pendant includes a ceiling plate of brushed, nickel-plated steel and a 10-foot cord, and is UL listed. The George Nelson™ Saucer Bubble Pendant is available in sizes S(7h x 17.5"diam.) M(10h x 25"diam.) L(14h x 35"diam.) Size S can accommodate a 60-watt standard bulb; sizes M and L can accommodate a bulb up to 150 watts (not included). Installation required. George Nelson has work in MoMA’s collection.
