MoMA Exclusive: Emblematic of the Memphis Design Movement of the 1980s, this Icon Wall Clock is characterized by bold colors and geometric hands. Conceived in 1984 by postmodern designer Nicolai Canetti, the Icon Clock tells time while complementing your home with its eye-catching bright colors and modern sensibility. The clock features three silent-sweep hands: the thick gray hour hand is punctuated by a large red circle and blue triangle; the white minute hand has a zig-zagged shape; the second hand is a zig-zagged wire with a large striped rectangle on one end and a small red triangle on the other. The clock’s face is black with only two numerals that are dramatically mismatched in font and size: 2 and 7. At the 3 mark is a gray square and the 9 mark bears the Canetti logo. The 12 is signified with the word “TWELVE” printed vertically with an L-shaped border. The Nicolai Canetti Icon Wall Clock is made from aluminum and measures 1h x 15.5”diam.
