“James Edmonson of OH no drew inspiration from Californian psychedelic concert posters from the late ‘60s, a distinctive part of the region’s design history,” explains Paulin designer Kate Muir. “We selected the final design for its expressive numerals and playful characteristics.”

“Paulin is a studio predominately made up of art school graduates, so typography and design is always at the forefront of our thinking. In 2023, we became part of fellow watch company anOrdain, known for their hand-enamelled dials. We combined their craftmanship knowledge with our strong design language.”

“Collaboration is an important part of Paulin, in particular with artists and designers outside of the watch world. We have found when an artist outside of the industry applies their practice to a dial design, it results in new and innovative solutions to timekeeping, as well as a new way for our collaborators to expand their practice.”
