These intricately beaded Sidai Neema Double Arrow Warrior Earrings are the result of a collaboration between the brand’s founder, Eszter Rabin and her business partner Rebecca Moore, and Maasai women artisans in Tanzania. This design is composed of beaded sterling silver and is entirely handmade by the first female Maasai silversmiths in Sidai’s workshops. Sidai’s jewelry celebrates and is inspired by the patterns and colors of traditional Massai designs, rendered for Sidai in high quality materials. Through this collaboration, Sidai provides economic opportunities for Maasai women and girls. These Neema Double Arrow Warrior Earrings measure 1.25”l.

After designs are finalized by the in-house artists, a sampling artisan creates the final prototype and teaches the team the new design and technique. Because the team workers are all master beaders, they are able to help the design team understand what is and isn’t possible.
In 2018, with funding from the Australian government, Sidai built a silversmithing workshop and taught some of their women artisans how to hand-make jewelry in silver. Because of this initiative, traditional Maasai jewelry that was made with steel wire and crudely cut scrap metal has been transformed into smaller, lighter everyday pieces made from sterling silver.
To provide the women with additional resources to the income generating activities, Sidai partners with different NGOs in Tanzania and worldwide to provide impactful workshops and programs. The workshops range from understanding legal rights to reproductive health to environmental awareness and conservation.
To create these intricately beaded designs, brand founder Eszter Rabin and her business partner Rebecca Moore collaborate with Maasai women artisans in Tanzania. Sidai has a core team of nine highly skilled Maasai women who work with 140 skilled women who live in tight-knit groups in town and nearby villages. The jewelry celebrates and is inspired by the patterns and colors of traditional Massai designs, rendered for Sidai in high quality materials. Through this collaboration, Sidai provides economic opportunities for Maasai women and girls.
