Designed in Sweden through a collaboration with ornithological experts, the Wildlife Garden Bird House and Feeder houses hungry chicks in the spring, feeds flighted birds through the autumn and winter, and pleases people all year round with its rustic-yet-minimalist look. In the spring and summer, small adult birds such as sparrows or warblers may enter through the round portal—first come, first serve, of course—to create a nest. After the young chicks have begun to grow a bit, the climbing notches inside the house to help them get back out through the portal and take their first flight.Once the house is clear of baby birds, simply close the entrance portal and remove the inner floor to get the Bird House and Feeder ready to perform its other function as a feeder. Any birds you have in your area will be happy to alight on the small perches near the food slot and eat the fresh bird food you provide. A bonus for you and for the birds: the closed feeder also keeps weather and pests like squirrels or other rodents from fouling or stealing the seed.
The natural wooden house measures 9h x 7w x 7"d and can be mounted on a wall or a tree with the accompanying mounting bracket and screws, or on a pole that you provide. Its slanted roof and minimalist décor will add a touch of panache to your yard or garden.
Please note: Due to the nature of the wood grain and texture, some slight blemishes may be present on the birdhouse's surface. Each house is handmade and hand-painted resulting in slight variations. No two birdhouses are identical.
