Why We Chose This
Finnish architect and furniture designer Yrjö Kukkapuro asserted a design philosophy centered around ergomonics. A leading figure in the Functionalism movement, Kukkapuro is represented in MoMA's collection with his black leather Armchair (1963–1964), a design distinguished by its supreme comfort. Kukkapuro's work was featured in the Museum's exhibition Recent Acquisitions: Design Collection in 1967–1968.
Authenticity Guarantee
At MoMA Design Store, all of the designs we sell are curator-approved and authentic. We ensure the integrity of our products through research and by working closely with the designers. Our products embody the spirit of good design objects in MoMA's collection. Some of them are actual designs represented in the Museum's collection.
