Shōji Optical Wool Throw
MoMA Exclusive: Designed and crafted in Japan by third-generation master weaver Osamu Mita, this reversible throw is inspired by an essential element of traditional Japanese homes: shōji—translucent, paper-covered sliding screens. The reversible dot-and-grid pattern is woven from 100% felted wool in black, white and gray to blend with any decor. The 71˝ x 39˝ throw offers a warm way for one or two to curl up on the couch or travel in comfort. Mita’s work is included in MoMA’s collection and was featured in the 1998 MoMA exhibition Structure & Surface: Contemporary Japanese Textiles.
