Brionvega Radiofonografo Radio and Turntable
Description
A superb work of modern industrial design, the Brionvega Radiofonografo Radio and Turntable is an AM/FM radio and turntable handcrafted in Italy according to its 1965 specifications, including a single-piece molded aluminum stand and hand-lacquered wood. The pleasingly modular shape of the Brionvega Radiofonografo, as well as its impeccably retro look and construction, will delight audiophiles as well as those who recall the golden age of hi-fis in the 1960s and ‘70s. The uniquely styled speakers can be configured three ways for unparalleled sonic definition. Why We Chose This
The Brionvega Radiofonografo Radio & Turntable was designed by brothers Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, internationally acknowledged masters of Italian design whose work is represented in MoMA's collection. Their work is known for combining simplicity with fun, along with close attention to how objects are used in real life. In 1997, MoMA launched the first individual retrospective of Achille's work with the exhibition Achille Castiglioni: Design! Prior to that, his designs were featured in numerous exhibitions at the Museum, including The Modern Movement in Italy: Architecture and Design (1954) and Recent Acquisitions: Design (1967-8 and 1970-1).

The Museum of Modern Art established the world's first curatorial department devoted to architecture and design. MoMA Design Store carries a selection of design objects from that collection. We only offer authorized versions in the colors and materials selected by the original designers. MoMA's design collection is ever-changing, a reflection of the evolving field of design itself.
