Tupperware© Impressions Tumblers – Set of 4
Invented in 1946 by chemist Earl Tupper, Tupperware© is an iconic storage and serving solution that was and continues to be revolutionary: the containers combine non-breakable plastic with an unprecedented sealing system. This set of four Tupperware© Impressions Tumblers—in teal, lime, red and blue—is made for entertaining indoors or outdoors and feature lids with Drip-Less Straw Seals (straws not included). The slightly raised wavy surface on the outside of the tumblers make them easy to hold. Dishwasher-safe.
Original Tupperware© designs from the 1940s are featured in MoMA’s exhibition The Value of Good Design, on view through June 15, 2019. The exhibition's adjacent Good Design Lab features contemporary updates from the brand. Tupperware© is still to this day distributed by the company through the “party-plan” system of marketing. This groundbreaking endeavor was developed by Brownie Wise in the late 1940s after a friend gave her a set of Tupperware bowls from a hardware store. Her wildly successful Tupperware parties came to the attention of Earl Tupper, who asked Brownie to become the company’s Vice President.
